Commemorative Bookmark for Humblewood

So I had a little bit of art fun these past days. I have been playing a very casual game of Humblewood (DnD 5E) with my son and occasionally with my wife. We even went to the park a week and a half ago and played about a three hour session under the trees. My son, Cloud, was so keen to keep going. He pointed to a random tree on the map and said “can we go there dad!” So of course, that’s where we went. But that is another story.

This past Sunday we traveled, via a single CON Survival check, to the Scorched Grove. We were looking for the rare Shadow Frog which we needed to summon the Ultimate Fish (the mind of a six year old comes up with some amazing things). We pushed into the Scorched Grove with a freshly rescued Tender (kind of the druids of the setting) and sure enough, there was the Ashsnake. At this point, my wife walked into the lounge room in RL and Cloud and I begged her to join in. Her Strig Monk was curiously above the cliff, glided down and combat ensued. What a battle.

Inside the cave were another five tenders who we successfully rescued. The Strig Monk, Morning Star, was looking for mushrooms which happened to be in the shadow frog cave. We ate the mushrooms for dinner and everyone had a darn old good time.

Our little party of furry and feathered adventurers. Morning Star (left, Strig Monk), Rainbow (middle, Jerbeen Druid) and Silver (right, Marpach Fighter).
The Ashsnake we defeated at the cave entrance.

Next we will head to Saltar’s Port to travel to the land of the Minotaur’s to retrieve a piece of their horn. Let’s see if my son thinks about using some barter system to procur it, not just with swords drawn.

Oh, the map for the desert island is in another recent post if you are interested.
